SCRIPTCON.ZIP Hi everyone.
Today I thought about it would be great to get scripted modifiers instead of utilities and floaters. So i started to take a look at the scriped controllers. It works fine. First time I wrote a delay script so that one object follows the other with a delay, no problem.
Then I started a script on a dummy, that creates other objects (see attached file) no problem. I put it on the scale track anyway this track is´nt needed. The creation of the objects work fine.
Now my question : When I use the dummy coordinates as source for creation of the other objects and move the dummy .... MAX hang up.
okay, thats my little problem. Hope someone could help me.

Welding I can't seem to find a command to Weld vertices together in the documentation.. But if I say Weld, it doesn't give me an error, but it also doesn't do anything..

Well, as you can see, the site has taken on an entirely new interface. I believe you will find it much easier to navigate, and locate what you're looking for.
There are no R2 specific libraries yet, and won't be until some materials created specifically within R2 have been created or submitted in the libraries. The Plug-ins section now only contains links to where you can get the plug-ins which were not created by people associated with MaxMatter.
For all those of you who've expressed interest, the first MaxMatter plug-in pack has been released, and is being distributed through Digimation. You can see more about these on the M.M.P.S. site.

Well, Beta 0.2 had a very BAD BUG, so I had to write on... The list functions do work ok now. The MoveUP and MoveDOWN buttons will become active if you have more than one sequences. The current sequence will be moved up/down in the list. The "Active" checkbox will become activated for the new sequence everytime you copy a Deactivated sequence. There is a new button "ReActivate All Sequences" - does exactly what it says. The status line reports the Active sequences separately. 3DS Max r2 Bug Reports There is a serious, though fortunately not widespread, bug whereby the Sentinel (dongle) drivers have problems interfacing with some parallel ports on certain machines. The symptom is about a 10-second delay in mouse movements. There are a number of threads on the subject in the Kinetix On-Line 3DS Max r2 channel. And Kinetix says it is hard at work on solving this problem as quickly as possible.
Ishani News: Due to a book deal, the new sets of MAX R2 plugins will not be publically available until early next year. They will all be included in the new '3D Studio MAX 2.0 F/X' released later this year. MushyCAT News: What: The goal is to be able to tweak an animation's parameters via alternate physical control devices, such as faders, knobs, 3D trackers, etc. You can also use a MIDI device as a transport control for MAX (start/stop/animate toggle/scrubbing through time/etc), as well as to control various other MAX commands (pretty much anything). Animating morph target weights is particularly easy via MIDI faders. NEW! The MIDI Controller now includes a Peavey PC1600x sysex librarian.
How: The MAX2 MAXScript MIDI Driver allows you to process incoming MIDI data in anyway you like, via MAXScript, to control any parameter that MAXScript can access. Unlike MAX2's built-in motion capture, the driver allows you to control MAX in non-real time, meaning you can sit on a frame and tweak, drop a keyframe, move to another frame, tweak, etc. The driver is not a plug-in, it's a small free-standing app that sends messages to MAX2 that MAXScript can interpret.

If your mesh painting need is not heavy, then this utility will serve you well in your works. It simply unfolds the mesh according to its mapping coordinates and lets you paint whatever you want using your favorite painting program (Photoshop, Fractal Painter, etc.) You can also use this template image to warp an existing image (your photo maybe) so that it fits perfectly to the mesh when you map it onto the mesh
More Outburst examples
Two more examples demonstrating outburst has been added to the Outburst in-depth gallery section,both created by Brandon Davis (who wrote the Outburst in-depth). The first one shows the different obstacle types, and also that you can animate between the different options.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:
EZLIST is a family of programs for IFL file creation and editing. EZLIST Max Lite is a MaxScript version for use within 3D Studio MAX Release 2. There is also a DOS-based release of EZLIST available for download.
It is a tool that lets you easily create IFL (Image File List) files for use in 3D Studio, 3D Studio MAX, and some command-line controlled DOS programs like the CMPEG encoder.

Peter Watje Released 2 new Plugins Noise2d for Max 2.0 has been Released by Peter Watje Noise2D is almost the exact same as the Noise that ships with Max except that it implemented as a 2D map instead if a 3d. The benefit is that you can now see the noise in the interactive shaded viewports. The draw back is that you need mapping coord's for the object. This version also supports a middle color so you can shift the middle gradient of the noise around.
Calpha, Galpha, and See Buffer for Max 2.0 have been added to the Max2 Plugin Section. SeeBuffer is a SeeZ replacement in addition to the Zbuffer it can output the Material ID, Object ID, UV Mapping, and Normals channel.
Edge To Spline 1.0 for Max 2.0 has been added to the Max2 Plugin Section.

New lip syncing plugin
There's a new lipsynch available(?) from Parapup that lets you 'script' lip synch animation by just typing in what you want the character to say plus add a few parameters on how fast he should talk etc. For more information, visit Parapup's website.

There are no new features, but R1 files should load fine johnny@ywd.com GlowBaby is a video post filter for 3DStudio Max that combines the best features of Super Glow and Animated Glow and adds a few of it's own. Like Super Glow, you can specify different colors for different regions of the glow. Like Animated Glow, most parameters are animatable. But there's a bit more than that...

Maxr1.2 Plugin News Transformation Matrix Tester (Beta) This is a utility plug-in to test transformation matrices. It unzips to a DLU that is accessed from the utility panel in the TMatTest section. It will display the following info and TMs in a dialog box to let you see them:
Show TM Controller, GetNodeTM(), GetObjectTM(), GetObjTMBeforeWSM(), GetObjTMAfterWSM(), GetParentTM(), GetTargetTM(), ObejctState.GetTM()
You can also build transformation matricies 'by hand' by typing in values and seeing their effect on the currently selected node. Note that this plug-in is BETA! Get Transformation Matrix Tester Here.
Star Blur bug reports coming in !
There is a bug in StarBlur which is causing 3D Studio Max to do the disappearing act. A correction will be posted as soon as I find the problem. Unfortunately, the bug is not reproducible when VC++ 5.0 is loaded. The strangest thing I've experienced????
I will post a correction to StarBlur as soon as possible. Meanwhile, all the other options (real-time preview) work as long as you don't use the new motion blur option

Outburst 1.1 is a compatibility release with 3D Studio MAX2. Included in Outburst 1.1 is a new online help file that integrates automatically with the MAX2 help system.
StarBlur
A new free plugin was released by Nik Foscarini (maxplugins.com) called StarBlur which is an enhanced version of the Star plugin. To read the press release, click here. To download the plugin, click here.(94KB)
StarBlur StarBlur is a modified version of the StarField image filter. The motion blur calculations in StarField have been completely rewritten, and you will see a dramatic increase in image quality. There is also a real-time preview window, and you can change the colors of the stars. This plug-in is available for download, and you may use it as freeware. This plug-in is for 3D Studio Max 2.0
UltraShock and X-Ray. UltraShock will be released in the next couple of weeks, and X-Ray will follow a month or two afterwards. Pricing information will be announced at the time of the plug-ins release.

Here is a new utility plugin for you to play with, IDSelect v1.0b1. It allows you to select objects based on their Material IDs and Object IDs. Click here to get this plugin mainly usefull for getting a selection on objects while working with Video Post plugins like Glow, RLF, or genesis, in scenes with large hierarchy of meshes
