DVC-99 Racing

So my friends,i guess this is where the REAL work begins this time
Took the block up to Jörgen my machinist.(Just northeast of Gothenburg)
Put the stressplates on the block and went at it.Final hone made the clearance
end up at 24/100 of a mm measured just below the ringpack.
Pistons in case is a set of Venolia 12,5:ers btw. These are "true" nitrous pistons
(yeah we checked with Venolia- LOL)
NOS pistons as far as that they sport a lower residing ringpack, and are made
"softer" than normal pistons.Further, these pistons are also gasported
Piston pins turned out to be of the "sporty" H-11 variety
Sure the weigh less then an empty beercan, but they don´t stay especially
round for long. That proved to be the case with these too..so trashcan next stop
for those..Picked up a set of C&A tapered ones instead.
Bore-as you can gather-is at +125".

Now having those scratches in mind we checked the pistons VERY carefully.
Both for cracks and dimensions. When we found that they checked out i told
Jörgen that i wanted to blast them to make some of the scratches less profound
in apperance.
Geez guys,he almost scalped me!
Ya see..he´s been down to the Mahle factory, and told them about this "doctrine" of
glass beading pistons.
They told him it would do NOTHING apart from make the piston
more prone to pickup dirt on assy
So..no more glass beading of pistons i guess.
When honing was done,we checked the block for trueness
as far as mains and cambores go.
It checked out fine.Even better then fine,it was right on the money.
