02 December nOx Kicked
Finally some would say. I don't, I'm actually sad. Even though nOx sometimes is a real pain in the ass, he was also a great guy, and he really cared about FoM. To bad things didn't work out in the end and that he got "mad with power". To make the story short, when I came to the decision to "kill" the hpw section for good nOx freaked. With all right I guess, I have a strange way of taking these decisions without consulting anyone first =). We argued a while and he started kick/ban me from #fom, something he has done several times before. I've told him to not ban anyone from #fom, _especially_ a member, but he never listens. Then he kick/banned me from #unf and finished with kick/banning everyone from #fom. Not much more to say, he was kicked from the clan. Parts of our discussion were logged, but some of the worst things he said are forever lost.21 November Down again
Force Majeure is officially "on ice". We will continue the way we've always continued, as a LAN clan. If it weren't for the fact that we all know each-other so well FoM would probably have died away a long time ago… But it's nice to have a clan that have been around for two years and that still have four of five original members playing… or at least three. We might rise again when all of us become LPBs, but it's not certain. The only thing we can be assure of is that we will continue playing at various LANs, and that some of us probably will become active in other clans. Since there's no meaning in updating when we don't play any matches this might be the last thing a write for this site in quite some time, unless we get some screenshots up from some of the LANs we will attend. So I say thank you and goodnight, C YA!!! //ZkilfinG[FoM]15 November nOx new clan-leader
Since I no longer play as HPW I have decided that it was time for someone to takeover as clan-leader. I will continue as leader for the non-existing LPB-section and as a supervising-leader for the entire clan, but nOx will be the one responsible for the more practical details of the clan managing. I will of course help him and we will probably work side by side in looking for clans to challenge. Especially when it comes to recruiting new members nOx will be responsible even though I have the final word if there should be some disagreement between us. He has shown an interest in the survival of this clan that I haven't seen in anyone (perhaps even myself) for a long time and I know he will be a fine leader. Today we played against the Finnish clan cubic and even though there was trouble with disconnections we won. Screenshots are up under the battles-section.09 November Alive after Death?
I have tried to get life back in to this clan and failed. I've managed to assemble new members and get some of the old ones back, but aside from the matches played at DreamHack99 where only The Founders played for FoM, only one (!!!) prac has been played. Sure we could, like many other clans today, be a LAN-only clan. But since interest to keep this clan running has been shown by some of the new members this clan will continue its struggle to claim back our former glory. I don't know if I will take a step back from the scene or if I will continue to try to get the HPW-section running and assemble a LPB-section as well. The only thing certain is that I will never stop gibbing. Even if I don't play regularly or in a clan I will always start up the old frogbot from time-to-time and I still am gonna attend LANs.08 November DreamHack99
My feelings about this Party/LAN are mixed. On one side are the fact that there was no network at all until 24 hours after the doors opened. Also when they finally got the switches and we got connected there were lots of PL. But later SoD and I moved and got to play the way it's supposed to be at a big LAN, without PL. But it was too much err from the tech-side for the LAN to be as great as it could have been. On the other side this was the party I've enjoyed the most due to social reasons. I've meet this much great people, perhaps this was due to the fact that there weren't much else to do. Some battles were played though and some of them are up under the Battles section.03 November Let's get ready to rumbel!
0430 Tomorrow I get up and prepare myself for the journey to Borlänge where DreamHack99 will take place. It's going to be a great weekend, and I know we will play many great battles. The LAN will be a great place for us to "get our gear together" and line up for the forthcoming struggle. The time has come for us to prove to our opponents that we are a force to count with. It's time to gib 'em all!29 October Bring 'em on!
Is it just me, or aren't out members as active as I had hoped for? Maybe I feel this way because I myself have been online extremely much this week, but it's time to get started now. I have assembled SoD, Hubas, GreenGoblin, nOx, Vindaloo and Jexes. It's time to crush our foes. Not to sit passive while they claim glory that righteous belongs to us. Not to talk about what's wrong when we played last time, but to frag everyone that comes in our way. Not to get great grades, but to get great gibbz. It's time to rise again.26 October Great times are coming
Things are finally looking bright, we've played our first match against HDS this Sunday, as expected we lost, but at least we've come to the point when we can get a team together. One reason we lost was that I filled in as a HPW, something I'm not good at, another that Stalin took my place on the second map as a tryout. None of the players have played together before, and so we don't see this loss as a defeat, we see it as the first step against the reunion of Force Majeure. Jexes has "almost" joined, he's not a full member yet, but he will probably become that during this week. We have others that are interested in joining, and the LPB-section has found potential members as well. So things are really looking great. I hope all new members will enjoy playing with FoM and that they will contribute to make this a great clan again.23 October Disturbance
Right now my eyes are itching. I haven't slept much this weekend due to the fact that I've had too much fun quaking instead of writing my math's report. But the time hasn't been wasted. First I've got some practice (and I really need that), and secondly the issue of who to take over my roll as clan-manager has finally been solved. It's gonna be me 8-). I believe that I will have time for this after all, and also it's best if someone that has been with the clan for some time cold do this, and so I will take this on. GreenGoblin has joined and we all welcome him warmly, especially since many of us have met him at various LAN's. Also something else has happened. Wrath has left us, or been kicked, depending on who tells the story. I would say it was a mutual agreement, but nOx would say that he got kicked 'cause he sucked". As said before, there is no room for a player that causes disturbance in the clan, and so this was the only sane solution. For a while I almost gave up and explained the clan deactivated once and for all. That was until I meet some new friends late last night. One of them, Vindaloo, has now joined the clan and we welcome him and I believe he will have a great time with us. Also I have spoken with several LPB's about starting a FoM LPB clan. And this is also going well. The potential members at the time are Omar, Daszoeb, myself and of course all founders (as soon as they've become LPB's).16 October New members
Force Majeure welcomes nOx and Wrath. They will become a great asset to our clan. nOx is a old friend of mine and some other clan-members. Zurf also joined for a while, but there were complaints from several members and in fact also from non-members, so I tried him again, and even though he played well, he himself decided to withdraw from the clan. It's impossible to have a member that causes disturbance in the clan. This was also the case with Slaver that wanted to join recently. I myself will step back from the HPW-scene and instead become a LPB. I will try to assemble a FoM-LPB clan as soon as the HPWsection has formed. Also the screenshots and a demo from FoM-LAN is finaly up. And the Founder Caloric has finally been added to the members-section, even though he has left the quake-scene a year ago. I didn't change the info thus the low age and slow connection.6 October The End... or a New Beginning?
The Clan has more or less been down during the summer with the exception of various LAN's (including our own FoM-LAN). The reasons are many, one being that most of us are tired of lagging around like HPW's, another the fact that summers are "low-season" for the quake-scene. I couple of weeks ago I decided to pull the plug on FoM. It was sad, but necessary. It's no good pretending we're an active clan when we're obviously not. When the others got to know about this they all agreed this was the right thing to do. We thought that we might rise again as an LPB-clan (we've already lost Omar to the LPB-scene) since some of our members now have access to faster connections. And we will of course keep kicking ass at every LAN we have the possibility to attend (next event will be DreamHack). But aside from that the clan are dead, no tournaments, no pracs, no online activity whatsoever...
...but all that's changed now. Only a week or two after the official death of FoM I thought that it was a real shame to sit passive while a fine clan slowly dies away. Since I have not much time myself to play and manage the clan due to my education at HiG, but still wanted to fill the clan with life once again I decided to get some old members back together on a mission to bring back the honor we've lost to uprising clans. A new members page will be up as soon as the new formation has been assembled. I will continue as clan-leader and webmaster, I'll also try to play as much as my busy schedule allow me to. I won't however be responsible for setting up games and reporting to leagues. I will assign someone for this very soon, more info about everything will come up as it develops. The time has come to once again enter the battlefield. The time has come for us to show our challengers how a frag should splatter across the solid walls of e3m1. The time has come to rise to Something Beyond Control. The time has once again come for Force Majeure.
