Kinship Battle Academy’s
Frequently Asked Questions
by new recruits

Welcome to the Kinship Battle Academy.

Yeah, whatever. What’s with the rating system?

At the Kinship Battle Academy, we try to set guild events to be fair. And, in order to do this, we have to constantly have updated weapon skills/physical attributes. Therefore, we ask our members to submit their stats and skills on a weekly basis, by using the report form found on the guild site, to Sentinel, who will record them and adjust your in-game titles after the results.

Guild events? Are you on drugs?

No. Except for the coffee. But everyone drinks coffee, so I can’t be blamed. Anyways, we haven’t had many guild events so far that weren’t sparked by one member saying to another, "I’m bored. Let’s go hunting". However, that’s not just the fault of the Administration (The Council that is). That’s also the fault of pretty much everyone who has ever simply complained that we don’t do anything. If you have an idea for a game which we could organize that kicks up our skills (Ex: A combat game of some sort, like Sentinel’s Orc game). We’re open to any suggestions. Also, we’re planning on setting dates for guild-wide sparring gatherings. So don’t say we never do anything for you :P

What’s this Council you mentioned?

The Council makes the most important decisions in the guild. The Council members will discuss potential members, plan guild events, form alliance treaties and work on other boring guild issues. All the positions are not filled yet, so make yourself an invaluable asset to the guild if you’re interested. One way to show your dedication to the guild would be to submit new ideas for guild events or improvements. Bribing the guild master will not work, but you are welcome to try. Donations of less value than a tower deed will not be accepted *grins*

Where do I submit my ideas then?

Talk to either Sentinel or any of the other Council members. We’ll pass it along. Better yet, write them down on the message board on the guild site. That’s why it was put there in the first place.

What’s with the mandatory colors?

That’s just to keep track of what division everybody’s in. It is not like we will ban you from the guild just because you do not wear them all the time. It is mandatory for guild events, however. It’s reasonably important to know who uses what skill for the simple purpose of picking and choosing fights (and, in the case of mace men, choosing what armor you want smashed into chunky kibble), and also for being able to tell who your superiors (trainers) are.

What if I want to spar outside of a guild event?

Try meeting up with one or two people at the guild house. Go hunting with them. Make friends. The higher the skill of the person you’re sparring with, the quicker your skills go up. Just keep in mind that the reverse is true for the higher people, so they might not want to spar 24/7.

I hear we have declared war on some guilds? Can we kill them? Please tell me we can kill them!

A very important thing for a guild is to make friends. Some people think it’s just about war, those people can go find some nice PK guild to join. I know the guild name has the word Battle in it, but that doesn’t mean we take a frenzied trip down the path of blood and war every other day. For the people interested in that, read the remark about PK guilds above. Sure we battle a lot, but very seldom out of hate. Currently we have 3 guilds on our war list. They are however allies. I guess you could try to kill them, but your career in BAK would be cut unreasonably short.

So what you’re saying is I can’t kill anyone? What kind of lame guild is this?

You got me all wrong. I just told you we’re not a guild which declares war on everybody just to kill, crush and destroy. We understand the thrills of PvP just as good as anyone else, but we want it to be on our terms. Thus the term guild events was invented. Heck, if we’re able to convince some of our allies to join us in the mentioned guild events I must admit I was wrong. You would get your chance to kill them.

Alright, I’ve read through this whole damned FAQ, and it didn’t say anything about joining. Everyone knows that that should go first. You suck at writing FAQ’s, and I hope you die a horrible death.

Thanks for the encouragement. If you want to join, just fill out the Join Form found by clicking the link below. Or hang out at the guild house, talk to the people with BAK over their heads. They’ll pass it on to the Council. But the Council will just tell you to fill out the form, so do that first. We know it‘ll require some small effort from you, but that’s the way we like it. If you think it’s too much work just to join a guild, then you’re probably not BAK material anyway.

Try out our new web based joining form!

A big thanks to NaturalOne for coming up with the idea for a FAQ and for writing most of it.
