Navigating - the Basics...

Free Agent newsreader - probably the best around. Also in a commercial version, Agent.	MS Internet Explorer - still free of charge (just wait and see...). NO complete support for Javascript or Java.
Free Shockwave plugin for Macromedia multimedia apps.	Netscape Navigator - still preferred by most... The only major browser that supports Javascript. Plugin for Active-X support available.
For platform independent electronic documents. Comes as plugin (free), standalone reader (free) and writer ($).	Eudora e-mail client. One of the best around, easy to use. Free light version (3.01). Also pro version (3.01).
mIRC: Free IRC client with many features	WS_FTP for your file transfers. Comes as Limited Edition (free) or Pro.

Excellent Windows compression utility and shell for all major compression programs.	PKWare Inc. Makers of PKZip for file compression. Comes in DOS and Win versions.
ARJ. The famous file compression utility by Robert Jung. Recommended! Free for non-commercial use. DOS.
