The Angolese culture must achieve fufillment within the roots of the rich Angolese popular traditions, taking part in the socio-economic development of the country and extending into the universal context. A certain amount of fundamental work is therefore needed to encourage the people to take action and participate in the national cultural life, creating and developing a strong mass movement which is the fundamental object of the cultural policy.

These principles are contained in the final resolution of the most important forum held until then in the Republic of Angola, the first symposium on national culture. This important meeting reviewed the situation in this area and disclosed the principal problems while indicating the avenues selected for cultural development in Angola.

independence is not propitious to rapid evolution of cultural events in many sectors, the symposium started to implement the fundamental guidelines indicated by the party. these are notably the development of cultural action in the areas of music, dance, theatre, cinema, literature, plastic arts and museology. The purpose is to propagate mass cultural action in the most diverse forms. Such are the condition required for fulfillment of national culture that is scientific, diversified and of a new type.

Dance

JOVENS DO HUNGO
As repositories of a rich experience of potential vector Angolan ethno-folklore, they are today one of its principal Ambassadors, exalting the rhythmic and historical values of our country. Eminently musical, their music is based on the sounds extracted from Hungo, Harmonized with a percussion and the like, enriched with songs and voices characteristc of Angola and central Africa.
1998- Record their second album of original hits entitled Tuana Ndenge and again had the opportunity to elevate and bring prestige to the good name of Angola.
1999- Participated at the Meeting of Cultures in Bonn Germany
2000- Participated at the Meeting of Cultures in Stockholm, Sweden to celebrate the 25 th anniversary of the Independence Day.

Carnival
During three, four days Luanda is consumed by Carnival fervor, held every year on 25 to 27 March. It is an important cultural event thought it has European origins. Althougt it may not be apparent, the city of Luanda`s Carnival groups are highly organized. Their leader, Known as the comander has two aids, one for the men`s group, and another for the women`s.This assistanc are reponsible for arranging choreographs, choosing the colours and costumes for the occasion and establishing its arrangment. For example, the women`s group forms two parallel wings with the Bessanganas in the center, wearing their imposing, luxurious three-layered costumes.
