DRO 101: "DRO" stands for Digital Read Out and is a way to measure the movement of a tool or table, slide, whatever, very accurately by the use optoelectronics and and in my case an old PC.

This is a sort of prototype that I just finished, but the DRO will also be used on the lathe.
Here we have your basic drill press with the DRO stuff mounted on an ordinary coordinate table, PC for display of the movements, and although you can't see it, the ChiliFart Saddle is underneath this table...
