GPS page

If you don't know what GPS stands for, what it is used for and not interested to learn anything about GPS, then I think you save a lot of time if you leave this page now.
FRNAV-3.ZIP French navigation database for pilots. I created these files using G7ToWin and a Garmin GPS III Pilot. It contains a complete airports, navaids and VFR reporting points data base. Read my ReadMe.doc file about FRNAV-3.ZIP
French VRP.doc is a Word doc file with all the names and positions of all the French Visual Reporting Points. Download this file if you want to find your way in France. It will give you 501 navigation points.
ES-VRP.TXT is a list of Swedish Visual Reporting Points to be used with Garmin GPS and G7ToWin. Like FRNAV-3.ZIP, I created this file for pilots who are flying in Sweden.
ES-VRP Sorted.DOC is a list of Swedish Visual Reporting Points in Word format. It has also some background information and it is useful for people with other type of GPS than Garmin.
G7ToWin is a PC freeware to communicate with Garmin GPS. It is very useful, if you need something to keep track of your waypoints, tracks or routes. Easy to use and often updated. As far as I know, updates are new functions, Ron Henderson, the creator of this excellent freeware listens to the users and make changes when needed. Of course, if errors are found (very rare) they are also corrected almost immediately.
Garmin GPS III Pilot is the one I use. I am very happy with it. It never failed so far. I use it even during touch and go trainings to monitor my traffic circuit precision. The only time I don't have it with me is when I fly aerobatics. Since it is not securely fixed because I use it in different airplanes, it would be dangerous to have it fixed to the dashboard the way I usually fix to in other aircraft.
Tom's Garmin GPS Pages is where you can find a lot of information (if not everything) about Garmin and other GPS systems. You can also read about how the GPS works if you are just starting to look at GPS. There are also a lot of links to other interesting GPS sites and software downloads.
Joe Mehaffey and Jack Yeazel's GPS Information website is an other GPS information goldmine.
If you don't find what you are looking for on these two sites, look once again. Chances are that you have missed something.
