aaaaaWe are a family of five who
live in the country-side, just a short distance from the closest city Vänersborg
and just 1 hour away from Göteborg,
the second largest city in Sweden. We live on a half-island that lies in the
south of northern Europe's largest lake Vänern. There are the sandy
beaches, about five minutes by bike from our house. But it's also possible
to go swimming from the
rocks in the lake, by taking a ride in our rowing-boat with a small engine.
There is also a beach of tiles,
all orange, from a tile-factory which is gone for quite some time. There are
two mountains just close by, Halleberg and Hunneberg
which are nice to take hikes in, and perhaps even meet a moose or two.
aaaaaLars-Olof works as a teacher in math and
music, and Ann-Charlott as a conservator and head of the collections at a
county museum that is situated in Vänersborg. We have three children,
Johannes 14, Linnéa 12 and Andreas 9 years old. We also have a
cat named "Blixten" which means "Flash" since he's
rather fast when it's time for him to get his food.
aaaaaWe live in a house
that was built in 1939, in a typical functional style that was very popular
in Sweden during those times. We extended the house in 1994. On the first
floor there is a large hallway,
a living-room, the
master bedroom and kitchen, and
a small toilet. On the second floor
there are three bedrooms, a
large hallway and a bathroom. The
washing-machine is in the basement.
aaaaaThe garden is large, 3100 square meters,
with lots of fruit trees and bushes with berries, along with strawberries
and rasberries. We have a trampoline and even a water
tower in the garden that was rebuilt as a lookout point for the kids.
There is also a barbeque fire-place in the yard. There is a small forest close
to the back yard, which means that we are sometimes visited by deer, foxes
and hares.
