Demoscene

What is a demogroup?, you might ask yourself. Well, you compare it with a normal musicgroup! A demogroup is a sort of computerized musicgroup, the difference is that they are not only producing music. They are doing some kind of coputerized musicvideos which are called demos! A demogroup consists of the following types of members:

Artists - The artist draws pictures and logos for the demos.
These pictures are pixled in paintprograms. Sometimes
                         the artist uses raytracingprograms.

Musicians - The musician creates music for the demos. He/She often
                         uses a trackerprogram (Pro/Fasttracker).

Coders - The coders job is to make cool "effects" and join these
effects together with the music and the pictures! The
effects are often mathematic (fractals, vectors,
phongshading, splines etc.)! Coders often use the program-
                         language Assembler.

So.. The coder puts everything together and we get some sort of "musicvideo"! Why are people doing this?, because it's fun! :) Ask a musician why he likes to play the piano, I guess you'll get the same answer! There are a lot of so called "demoparties" there competitions are hold. The events are often these: demo, 40k-intro, 4k-intro, music, graphic, wildcompo!
