11 easy steps to making skins 1. Go in the quake2/baseq2/players/male or female folder. 2. Then copy a skin into a temp folder. Example: copy the grunt.pcx and grunt_i.pcx into a temp folder. Note: Make sure you have a copy of the skin still in the quake2 folder. 3. Now go into i.e., Paint Shop Pro and open the skin that you put into your temp folder. 4. Draw whatever suits you. 5. Go in the menu of your paint program and click save. Note: Don't click on Save As. Because this often changes the .pcx in many Paint Programs. 6. Go into your temp folder, and locate the skins you have just saved. 7. Click on the name i.e., grunt.pcx, wait a sec, then click again. 8. Now your cursor should be flashing on the name. 9. Change the name i.e., grunt.pcx to forge.pcx Ok you've chosen your new skins name, in this case Forge. Note: This is a key part. You have to change the i.e., grunt.pcx to a new name or this will not work. 10. Now take your new skins i.e., forge.pcx and forge_i.pcx and copy them into the quake2/baseq2/players/male or female folder. Note: You must copy the male into the male folder or female into the female, or the skins will not work right. 11. Start up Quake2 and go to multiplayer, then setup. Scroll through the skins until you find your new skin. There your done! Text done by: Rikky Malambri, jmdeckert@fwbnet.com
