Suspend-to-Disk
Partition
- Copy the file d:\s2d\0vmakfil.exe to a
bootable disk, where d: is the CD-ROM drive.
- Boot up from the bootable DOS disk.
- From a:\, type 0vmakfil -pXX,
- where XX is at least the amount of system
memory installed plus 2 MB for video RAM.
- Recommended parameter: -p100.
WINDOWS 95x
USB (Universal Serial Bus
Driver)
Windows 95
- Insert the Windows 95B CD-ROM with USB
Supplement.
- From the Start menu, run
d:\other\usb\usbsupp.exe.
- Scandisk will start. After it finishes,
allow it to shutdown and restart Windows.
- When asked to insert the Windows 95 CD-ROM
or the location of uhcd.sys,
- type in C:\Windows\System as the path.
- Continue with Core logic setup to set up
other devices.
Core Logic Chipset Driver
Windows 95C
- Please download the Core Logic Driver .
- Extract the file into an empty directory,
and run Setup.
- Windows will ask you to reboot the system.
- When Windows restarts, several hardware
devices will be found.
- Do not answer Yes to the restart prompts
until you see the Windows desktop.
- After restarting Windows, the core logic
setup is finished.
Windows 95B/C (Socrus T)(Socrus)
- See instructions for installing USB
support.
- From the Utility CD, run d:\setup, where
d: is the CD-ROM drive.
- After the system reboots, several
"New Hardware Found" prompts will appear.
- Do not restart until Windows Desktop
appears.
- PCMCIA wizard will start. Answer No to the
two questions,
- then select Finish and reboot the system.
- During hardware detection, Setup will
prompt you for Audio device drivers.
- Enter "d:\5033\drivers\audio\95"
as the location of the driver.
- When you are asked for drivers for the
gameport joystick,
- just use the Windows default driver.
- You may be asked for the location of a
file. Enter C:\windows\system.
- Core Logic Setup is now complete.
Video Driver
Windows 98
- Go into Control Panel / Display /
Settings.
- Move the Desktop Area slider right to
800x600,
- and check the box for Show settings icon
on task bar.
- Then, click on Apply. Restart Windows when
prompted.
Windows 95
- Go into Control Panel / Display / Settings
/ Advanced Properties.
- In the screen for Adapter, click on
Change.
- Enter D:\vga\95 as the path. Select
Trident 9660/9680/938X,
- Linear Accelerator for PCI
(v.5.00.10.TW.1403)
- Click on Monitor/Change. Select Show All
Devices,
- and select Laptop Display Panel 800x600.
- Click on Close to return to the Settings
screen.
- Move the Desktop Area slider right to
800x600,
- and check the box for Show settings icon
on task bar.
- Then, click on Apply. Restart Windows when
prompted.
Windows NT 4.0
- From Control Panel,
- select Display / Settings / Display Type /
Change / Have Disk / d:\drivers\vga\nt40

- Click on OK to return to Display
Properties, and OK again to restart Windows NT.
- After Windows NT restarts, go to Control
Panel / Display Properties.
- Set Desktop Area to 800x600. Select Test
to test the configuration, and then Apply.
Audio Driver
Windows 98
- After installing Windows, you will see 3
unknown devices listed under Other devices.
- Go to Control Panel / System / Device
Manager.
- For each unknown device, check Properties
/ resources.
- If the resources shows I/O 800-807, go to
Driver / Update Driver.
- The device driver update wizard will
start. Choose to display a list of drivers,
- and select Sound, Video, Game Controllers
as the hardware type.
- Select ESS Technology / ES 1869 Control
Interface (WDM).
- Click on Yes to confirm the driver, and
click on Next and Finish.
- If the resources shows I/O 220-22F and
etc, DMA 0 and 1, IRQ 5,
- then go to Driver / Update Driver. The
device driver update wizard will start.
- Choose to display a list of drivers,
- and select Sound, Video, Game Controllers
as the hardware type.
- Select ESS Technology / ES 1869 Plug and
Play Audiodrive (WDM).
- Click on Yes to confirm the driver, and
click on Next and Finish.
- If the resources shows I/O 201-201, go to
Driver / Update Driver.
The device driver update wizard will start.
Choose to display a list of drivers,
and select Sound, Video, Game Controllers as
the hardware type.
Select Microsoft / Gameport Joystick.
Click on Yes to confirm the driver, and
click on Next and Finish. Windows

Windows NT 4.0
- From Control Panel, go to Multimedia /
Devices / Add.
- Select Unlisted or Updated Driver,
- and enter D:\driver\audio\nt40 as the
directory.
- Select ES1888/1887/1868/1878/1869
Audiodrive v.2.00.41
- Use the following settings:
- I/O Address 220, Capture IRQ 7, Capture
DMA 1, MPU401 :
- I/O Address 320, Playback DMA 0.
- Restart Windows.
PCMCIA Driver
Windows 95B (Socrus and Socrus T)
Please see core logic setup for installation
of pcmcia driver.
Windows 95C / 98 (Socrus)
- Please download the O2 Micro 6832 PCMCIA
driver .
- Extract the files from the downloaded
file.
- Run Setup.
- Choose to Install driver and restart the
computer.
- After Windows has restarted, PCMCIA wizard
will appear.
- Answer No to the two questions, then
select Finish.
- Windows will shut down. After you restart
the computer,
- the PCMCIA installation is done.
Windows 95C (Socrus T)
Please see core logic setup for installation
of pcmcia driver.
Windows 98 (Socrus T)
Windows 98 will automatically set up PCMCIA,
so no additional drivers are necessary.
Windows NT 4.0 (Socrus and Socrus T)
- Insert the modem or network card(s) before
boot up.
- To install Network:
- Go to Control Panel, and click on Network.
- Then answer yes to start installing
Networking.
- Follow on-screen instructions.
- When it asks for Network Adapter, select
Start Search.
- If it doesn't find the network card,
- go to Select from List, and click on Have
Disk.
- After confirming Protocol and Clients,
restart Windows NT.
- To install Modem:
- Go Control Panel, and click on Ports.
- If there is not a COM3, add it manually.
- Make certain that you are using COM 3 IRQ

- Reboot the system if the port is added.
- In Control Panel, select Modem, and select
Add.
- The Install New Modem screen will appear.
- Select Next to allow Windows to search for
new modem.
- It should first search for a Modem on COM
3,
- and finds and queries the modem you
inserted.
- Windows will normally find the modem as a
Standard Modem.
- You can then select Change to select from
a list of modems,
- or to insert a Modem driver disk click on
Have Disk.
- After files are copied, click on Finish,
then you can start using the modem.
Power Profiler
Windows NT 4.0 (Socrus T)
- Insert the utility CD.
- Run d:\5033\drivers\powerpro\nt40e\setup.
- Follow the wizard to complete
installation.
