FIFTH REASON was formed in the middle of 1992 by Simon Johansson and Nicklas Oreland , one year after they recorded a promotion demo called "STRANDED". This tape was mostly used for labels and some magazines. But as Simon became a member of the Leif Edling project Abstract Algebra Fifth Reason was put on hold for at least a year. Abstrakt`s debut album, simply titled as the band itself, was released early 1995 and during the same year they played some festivals both in Sweden and Europe. Simon never let the idea of Fifth Reason die , so when the splitt of A.A became a fact (even though he actually joined force with Memory Garden , the later half of 1996 ) he had a chat with Kristian Andrčn (EX , Tad Morose / Memento Mori ) about reforming F.R. Simon also talked some sense into two other old buddies (Martin & Oskar), and suddenly he had his ass full once again. Early 1997 the foursome got a very good record deal with the fresh swedish metal label Heathendoom records which made them work even harder to write further material for their debut album. There was only one problem to solve, the band needed a second guitarist to make the sound even stronger. But after a chat with Marco A. Nicosia.( also with Hexenhaus ) that problem was solved. Simon asked one of his closest friends Mike Wead (also the guitarist of Mercyful Fate , Memento Mori. ETC) to produce the album which he would be glad to do.They stepped into Studio 22 together with Mike and recorded one helluva progressive and technical ,yet melodical metal album ,entitled "PSYCHOTIC". Eight fucking awesome metal tracks written and produced by some of Sweden's finest and most professional musicians.
