You and your other buddies are in the United State Marine Corps and your mission is to destroy an alien life form that are threatening to wipe out the earth. First every thing looks fine but suddenly when you an your platoon are flying down in your pods the pods start to act weird. You here your platoon scream and sees them crashing in to the alien town. You starts losing control over your pod too, and crashes in to a building. You have got a good headache when you wakes up you here your platoon leader from the base, your mission are now to find your platoon and destroy the alien base. You garb your blaster and this is where your adventure begins.

Quake2 contains several missions every mission are the same as one unit and one unit contains 3 to 4 levels. You can go back to any level in the unit but when you have completed the unit you can't go back to the last unit. On each level there are many enemies who want to get in your way to get rid of the enemies you have 10 weapons. First you have your blaster, the blaster is the standard weapon there are no ammunition to this so you can fire how many rounds you want. Then there is the shotgun, the shotguns bullets spreads over a small area. Super shotgun, that's the same as the shotgun so the bullets spreads over a bigger area. The machine gun and the chain gun are rapped fired weapons. The explosive weapons are the grenade launcher and the rocket launcher. The hyper blaster are the same as the machine gun only instead of bullets its firing laser shots. The rail gun fires uranium slugs at super high velocities. And at last there is the BFG shot one BFG shot in to a room and there will be nothing left. There are eighteen enemies an I'm going to tell you about three of them. The Enforcer are a strong warrior who have a chain gun on his right arm. The Gladiator has two mechanical legs and a rail gun operated on his shoulder instead of an arm and two raiser sharp blades on his left arm. Tank commander this big metal junk have a missile launcher on his shoulder and a chain gun on his right arm.

You can play Quake2 over lan or the internet, you can chose between being a female or a male after you have decided that you can pick a texture so your character will have a personality. After you have done that you can go an play. When your playing you gets points who also is called frags in Quake2. You will get a frag when you kill some one else and if you get killed you will respawn in an other location on the level and you do this tills the match ends then you can see who the winner is.
