The History of Earth and Beyond

Here follows a brief history of the Earth and Beyond Galaxy. Some information has been gathered from the archives of the University of New Edinburgh.

The early colonists 2020-2160

In the year 2020, the first human settlement was established on Mars, serving mainly as a scientific and military outpost. These early colonists later went on to form the Progen Republic (around the year 2037) when the first official Martian colony was established. The following decades human exploration and colonization of Sol system began in great force. In 2034 GETCo (Good Earth Trading Company) was founded by House Naverre for the main purpose of inter planetary commerce, being the first company with this agenda. Some years later (in 2050 to be exact) the Ganymede Project launched a starship, the Jin-Qui Maru, from Earth heading for Jupiter. The crew of the Jin-Qui Maru was lead by Dr Elias ben Joseph, a philosopher-physicist, which during the 5 year voyage to Jupiter wrote the Four Inspirations. This text has guided the Jenquai Hierate, which was formed by the crew of this expedition, ever since. The people left on Earth became the Terrans

When the expedition arrived they started constructing the space station Ganymede Station in orbit around Jupiter. The station was finished in 2062, but ben Joseph envisioned something even grander, an orbital metropolis, a great city for the space faring people sharing his vision in the Four Inspiration. Following shortly after the death of the great visionary, Jove City was constructed close to Jupiter, making ben Josephs dream a reality. The cosmopolitan Jove City soon overshadowed the Martian colonies for attention, making them largely ignored and almost forgotten by the general public on earth.

Rise of InfintiCorp
Twins Caithan and Crispen of the terran House MacGregor founded InfinitiCorp in 2102 and the company quickly rose in importance for space commerce. (Other major Houses are Tadakastu-Obata (Tada-O) and the Triad Intergroup Consortium or House Orsini) Focusing mainly on space travel technology they developed a technique called comet jockeying, using hollowed out comets and asteroids. This quickly rivaled the monopoly that GETCo had on space travel and in 2190 InfintiCorp unveiled the first true warp engine (the MK8 Infinti Pulse Drive), which now pushed InfintiCorp ahead of GETCo. A position they largely maintained ever since. In 2192, InfintiCorp sleeper ships arrive in Alpha Centauri system beginning the first colonization outside Sol system. GETCo, arriving just 2 months later, disputed InfinitiCorps claim over the system. The conflict was mediated by EarthCorps, which eventually took control over the system mainly for its own purpose. Four years later, in 2196, InfintiCorp and GETCo bought out the Unified Earth Government (UEG) and took over the administrative control of Earth.

The War of Secession
For unknown reasons the UEG starship Pegasus attacked the Free Trade Vessel (Progen affiliation) Orion in the year 2155. This set of a chain of events that lead to the War of Secession, where Martian colonies declared war on Earth. The Progen had developed a new kind of weapon, Ensis technology, which was stronger than any other weapon ever designed in human history. The devastation that followed during the war was horrific, Progens leveled every city on Earth, only sparing Paris (for some mysterious reasons). After five years of conflict the Terrans surrendered and Progens declared independence in 2160.

The political structure on Earth changed, Megacorporations (such as IC and GETCo) took over and EarthCorps was formed to prevent the kind of devastation seen in the recent war. The same year, in 2160, Jenquai officially declared themself the Jenquai Hierate. The war had cemented the divisions of the humans into what would become the Terran, Jenquai and Progen races.

The Freespacers
Following the devastation of the War of Secession, a small group of ideologues left Earth. Calling them self Freespacers they rejected any human construct such as race, class, religion. Fleeing the racial tensions that were boiling over on Earth after the division of the humans into the 3 major races. Experiencing extreme hardship these early Freespacers sought to develop the first truly space based culture. Many died in these attempts to construct a new lift for their families. The few families that survived are highly revered in the Freespacer culture, calling them "the old families".

Around 2190 a second group (middle families) left earth, now using the new InfinitiCorp warp drive. These were mostly members of the three races who had been disgusted by their respective government policies. Believing, just like the early families, that the division of humans only was artificial and that this increasing distance between the three races was just another example of the problems that humans had brought upon themself, and they wanted nothing to do with it.

Freespacers moved out in all directions and settled successful space based colonies all over the galaxy and there are reports that Freespacers even have reached beyond the known parts of space. Shunning the rest of human society, Freespacer communities settled as far away as possible from other cultures. In 2220, Freespacers started the colonization of Vega system, only to see InfinitiCorp "buy" the rights to the system some years later and then give the region over to the Progen in 2244. Progens soon proceeded to purge the system from any Freespacer existence.

Occasionally the Freespacers gather for social meetings at so called "Voidmoots". This seem to be the primary social outlet for the Freespacers who spend most of their life out in the vast emptiness of space. The solitary and often socially detached lifestyle of the Freespacers has a darker side however. Among the Old Families there are some who seem to have adopted a more brutal way of life. They have become the Bioharvesters who deal in salvage body parts from space wreckage and selling these to the blackmarket (for transplants and disease research). Some have even attacked ship simply to be able to harvest organs. Bioharvesters are a collective embarrassment for the Freespacers, which largely has succeeded in keeping the Bioharvesters origin a secret.

The Great Migration (2160-2286)

In the following 125 years humans peacefully explored the galaxy, sending out sleeper ships to colonize Alpha Centauri, Tau Ceti, Sirius, Vega, Capella, and Gallina systems. Each race concentrated on their part of the galaxy and during the years the three cultures became sufficiently different. Progens proceeded to develop cloning and other genetic technologies, Jenquai focused on religious exploration of space and spiritual control, while the Terrans maintained the interest in enterprise and commerce. In the year 2244 the Terrans (guided by InfinitiCorp) gave control over the Vega system to the Progens, for reasons unknown.

The Prasad Expedition
During this period (in 2198 to be exact), a group of explorers led by Anish Prasad ventured into the Sirius star system. Sirius is the brightest star visible from Earth and has been an important force in human mythology and mysticism since the dawn of civilizations. Later a Jenquai space station, named Prasad in remembrance of the first expedition to the system, was built close to Xipe Totec in Sirius. The Jenquai soon discovered that they were not alone in the sector. A strong presence that the Jenquai decided to call "the Hidden one" was controlling large parts of the sector of Xipe Totec, in Sirius system. The Jenquai felt the need to build some kind of protection from the presence and constructed a large energy field, the Intzalan Line, which is suppose to hold the enormously powerful presence in its place.

The Bogeril
The Bogeril are an enigmatic Terran sect whose members live in space "camps" around the Alpha Centauri system, concentrated primarily in the Witberg and Der TodesEngel sector. The main sect of the Bogeril, sometimes called the "ExAmericans", are descendants of some of the first colonists to arrive in the Alpha Centauri system. It is believed that the ExAmericans ancestors came from the Appalachia region of North America, where most of the resource-rich land was owned by absentee landlords who operated mining operations and other business interests in the region from larger cities on the East Coast of North America, with little interest for the harmful effects on the local population.

One cannot understand the current Bogeril rebellion without a basic understanding of where they came from, and the political realities of the lives from which they sought escape. They often lacked basic necessities like health care, which was a serious concern for people suffering from the lasting effects of coal mining. The Appalachian Mountains region is rather hostile environment, with most of the inhabitants living in rural areas, making it all that much more difficult for social services organizations to provide relief. They were often ridiculed or outright ignored by the mainstream population, especially the government, which often looked the other way at charges of wrongdoing levied against the absentee landowners.

In the 2190s the first sleeper ships arrive in Alpha Centauri carrying thousands of people, most of them very poor, not only from the Appalachia region, but from every corner of the globe. In addition to the ExAmericans, Rastafarians, Africans, and Europeans from England, Monaco, and Germany were represented in large numbers. Most experts believe these people left Earth out of economic desperation, hoping for a chance to start over and live a better life, much as the first Americans had done hundreds of years before when settling the western regions of North America.

Upon arrival, however, it seems their dream was not to become reality. The poor among the colonists were immediately marginalized yet again, as wealthy InfinitiCorp executives chose the best plots of land on the planets to build their cities and homes, leaving the more undesirable regions for the poor. In what most likely was a process of "gentrification", a phenomenon wherein poor people are forced out of blighted areas by rising home prices as areas become more fashionable, the Bogeril were constantly moved out of their homes by waves of new executives from InfinitiCorp, and later GETCo, and then EarthCorps. These people were always on the bottom of the social ladder and their prospects for upward movement seemed grim.

Around the year 2317, Planet Zweihander was hit with a deadly plague which lasted for 2 years. The poor often received substandard health care, or none at all, and were left to die on the streets. There is evidence that Terran officials overlooked these parts of the city, and the bodies of their dead literally piled up outside their homes. Anger was so pronounced that an "urban legend" arose among the people, and remains strong even today, that EarthCorps purposefully spread the plague in impoverished areas of the planet in a concentrated effort to drive the local people out of their homes. If this was the plan it certainly worked, there are no Bogeril left on Planet Zweihander and Zweihander sector in the current days.

The continued ownership of the Alpha Centauri system by InfinitiCorp, and then later GETCo and EarthCorps, no doubt evoked memories of the absentee coal mining interests which had used their ancestors for cheap labor and then discarded them, often ignoring their basic human needs. The economic status of the Bogeril peoples did not improve over their counterparts on Earth; and may even have declined substantially. Out of this despair arose Sam Bogeril, a charismatic (if not entirely sane) individual who rallied his fellow insurgents and began what would be called the Bogeril Rebellion. Although he spoke mainly to people from his same culture, they were not the only disenfranchised people in Alpha Centauri. He quickly became a leader and spoke out for all of the poor and destitute people of Alpha Centauri.

Taking a hard line against the rebellion, EarthCorps engaged in a bloody "Bogeril Pacification Campaign" in 2348. Although the number of Bogeril rebels was "drastically reduced," according to internal EarthCorps documents, the rebels continued to survive and seem to have dug in even deeper than before. There is little doubt that EarthCorps' overwhelming and brutal response to the rebellion probably led more people in the area to see Sam Bogeril as their hero, and probably had the effect of strengthening the Bogeril resolve, rather than weaken it.

Sam Bogeril was killed in 2351 in a skirmish with Captain Gerard Braun, who currently leads EarthCorps' ongoing anti-Bogeril campaign. Before his death, Sam Bogeril had compiled a "manifesto" for his followers, which gives some fascinating detail about his motives and his complaints against EarthCorps. His purpose is clearly to return Alpha Centauri to the "old ways"; to abolish what he sees as EarthCorps' quest for homogeny in the region and a return to the rich cultural pluralism of ancient Earth. His manifesto contains a number of rather bizarre predictions, including an apparent conversation with a supernatural being (green fire), which no doubt helps explain why the Bogeril remain a marginalized and ridiculed minority.

Nevertheless, Bogeril have perfected the art of using regular household products to improve technology and in some cases surpass the quality and usefulness of Megacorporation products. Bogeril are widely acclaimed for their excellent engine-building, which uses standard engine frames and various types of household debris to accomplish a remarkably fast, yet low-signature engine. Many of their inventions are both whimsically named and quite useful. The Bogeril are an excellent example of a colonial culture that has adapted to their surroundings and has been able to thrive, despite the most oppressive conditions.

The Crystal Age (2286- Present Day)

It began in 2286 when the antimatter generator of a Progen Cruiser (named Dauntless) overloaded and blew up near the orbit of Pluto in the Sol System, a region belonging to the Jenquai Heirate at that time. Reports from the accident are sketchy at best and the investigation ended in confusion. However, the explosion had revealed an ancient gate embedded in a nearby asteroid. The gate was named Akeron (after greek/roman mythology, Charon/Acheron is the boatsman taking the dead over the river Styx to the Underworld, sort of a gatekeeper)

The Gate was claimed by the Jenquai in 2287, after which they covered up all record of its existence. This year Varen Aragotha approached it with a small expeditionary force (among them his brother Andaren and also Merjan Kathrada), and found themself almost instantly transported to the Sigma Draconis system , which later adopted the name of Aragoth after the main explorer of the expedition. Exploring the system they decide to name the planets and sectors after Norse mythology. The expedition ends in tradgedy when Andaren Aragotha is killed by Scaracens near some ancient ruins in Varens Girdle sector, the ruins is now called Andarens Tomb. These and subsequent events are accurately recorded in the widely-read chronicle, "Aragotha's Revelations." Aragotha's Revelations were suppressed by the Jenquarum, but later stolen by the Terran military and released to the general public in 2304.

The Gate War
To begin with, the Akerons gate was kept secret by the Jenquarum, but Terran spies soon learned of its existence and shared the information with the Progen leaders. Bitter talks over access to the gate and the system on the other side ended in violence, when the Progen (fed up with the Jenquai stonewalling) stormed Jove City and destroyed it in 2289. The Progen so called Dog Soldiers were led by Dahaka Kahn, and they were the result of years of unregulated genetic manipulation which created these bloodthirsty warriors with little regard for human life. The Progen Dog Soldiers held the city and much of Jovian space around it until the end of the war, killing at will and torturing the population.

The war lasted around nine years, and in time the Progen also turned upon the Terrans and the fighting raged all over Sol system. Finally the Terran EarthCorps leader Galen Idowu sent a plead to the Progen Primarch Aurelian Tyr to end the war and visit Jove City to see the destruction there for himself. So Tyr did and when he saw what the Progen Dog Soldiers and Dahaka Kahn had done he personally executed Kahn and most of the Dog Soldiers were slaughtered by the Progen troops. Next day, Tyr declared the Gate War over and resigned his posistion. The Jenquai decided to never rebuild the city and only keep it as a memorial for generations to come. Instead the Jenquarum was reformed in Capella, moving their capital from Jupiter to Kailaasa.
An important result after the Gate War was the signing of the Glenn treaty in 2303 and the establishment of the Glenn Commission as a neutral governing body for Beta Hydri. Aragoth system was to remain a neutral sector and the Akeron gate used by all the races.

Akeron's Gate was carefully studied by InfinitiCorp scientists during the Gate War. These studies and reverse engineering of some aspects of the ancient gate led to the invention of the InfinitiGates in 2303, which today provide fast and convenient links between most sectors of human space.

The Shinwa
Just before the sack of Jove City, two leading Jenquai men, Mordane Kathrada and Shigehiro Yasuragi, proposed the need for a Jenquai warrior class to protect Jenquai interests. However, the two men could not agree on the structure of the new group, and thus were unable to convince the Jenquarum to allow the creation of the Shinwa order in time before the sack of Jove City. After the destruction of the city and catastrophic decimation of the Jovian Jenquai population the need for this warrior class was made obvious and the Shinwa order was born. However, there are still different beliefs about the purpose of the Shinwa even to this day.

The Battle of Akerons Gate in 2290
The most important battle of the Gate War was the Battle of Akeron's Gate. This was a battle between the Terran (EarthCorps) and the Jenquai. The terrans vastly outnumbered the Jenquai, but the battle still lasted several weeks. The leader of the Terran fleet was Hannibal Idowu (son of EarthCorps leader Galen Idowu) and for the Jenquai the leader was Mordane Kathrada (nephew or possibly son of Merjan Kathrada). During the battle the Aragotha expedition returned and came to the aid of their Jenquai people. Using the revolutionary, but at this time rather primitive, cloaking system, Mordane was able to get close to Idowu flagship and destroy (perhaps with the help of the Aragotha ships) its fuel cells. Idowu's ship then imploded taking Mordane with it. It is said that it was the death of his son Hannibal soften the heart of his father and thus leading to the end of the war (see above).

Lagarto Expedition
In the time of the Gate War, GETCo, being concerned by InfintiCorps growing influence, send out a sleeper ship to the distant system Gallina to claim it for themself. The expedition is a disaster. The colony ship of ECS Sierpe is attacked by some unknown beings (called "hounds"), perhaps coming from a maelstrom in Lagarto. After some nineteen days the GETCo ship was unable to hold off the attackers and tried a desperate way to send a distress call to Sol, attempting to open a miniature wormhole using their warp drive. Apparently the idea didn't work exactly as planned. The ship must have crashed on the Risco moon in Lagarto system. Not much is known about the exact events concerning the expedition and since GETCo and EarthCorps are not opening their archives, all questions must remain unanswered. The result in Gallina is known however, after GETCo sees the Gallina colonization as a failure they give up the rights for it to IC for a pittance. InfintiCorp, however sells the rights to the Progen for an exorbitant sum. This behavior deepens the split between GETCo and IC even more.

About the anomaly: scientist have suggested that the attempt with the wormhole led to a massive explosion (implosion) that made the Lagarto maelstrom to collapse, leaving in its wake an enormous gravity well and a strange anomaly, called the Sierpe anomaly. It works like a kind of mini wormhole transporting ships a large distance within the Lagarto sector. The visual scan does indicate its more of a mini black hole however and exerts considerable gravitational force on ships attempting to go through it.

It has also been suggested that the opening and closing of the Lagarto maelstrom was a result of the finding and opening of the ancient gate in Akeron, this hypothesis has never been proven though the events took place around the same time (hard to know with all the secrecy concerning both events).

Cygni background
InfintiCorp was the first to discover this system and constructed a gate to the sector Aganju in Cygni from the InfinitiCorp home system Tau Ceti in 2338. InfinitiCorp quickly saw the potential in this rich system and kept the discovery of the system and the link to it secret as long as possible. GETCo disputes InfinitiCorp’s claim on the new system, arguing that in the interest of fairness, GETCo should at least be granted rights to the Cygni B subsystem. InfinitiCorp executives refuse. The massive colony ship, TAS Benin, that had been part of the initial survey of the system was partially disassembled to construct the great Kinshasa-Mbali station in Aganju sector in 2339. Down on the planet Aganju InfintiCorp scientist began a large scale terraforming, seeding the planet with Terran RNA matrices. These efforts was aided by InfintiCorp Psionics, which were drafted from the terran population and forced to migrate to Cygni in unprecedented numbers.

The Psis were treated as slave labor, imported from other terran systems, processed in the cold orbital facility of Xai-Xai, sent to the mines of Eshu (another sector in Cygni), or to the terraforming stations on Aganju, or even down to the nightmarish reclamation plants of the hellish world of Ogun. In 2339, shortly after the first Psionics had arrived, brainwaves where detected on the water world of Zuri Maji. InfintiCorp immediately sealed the planet to all but InfinitiCorp scientist and a few high level Psis. Careful research of the Zuri Majis aquatic inhabitants, the Sesh', has be ongoing over the recent years. The secret nature of this project has caused speculations to ICs intentions towars the Stone age Sesh'.

The Cygni War (2340-41)
Around 2339 the secret of the Cygni system reaches the other races. Jenquai remain relatively unconcerned mainly focusing on their own affairs, but the Progen (under the leadership of Anjuren Khan) is enormously frustrated. Seeing that Terrans already held the richest systems and IC continue to dominate the production of Gate technology. Now yet another rich system overflowing with resources is grasped by the Terrans, while Progens got the "scraps" at the table, namely the Vega and Gallina systems, handed to them by IC executives.

However, without the technology behind the gates, what was the Progen to do? The help came from an unlikely source, GETCo, concerned over yet another system falling into IC hands (read above about GETCos failed colonization attempt in Gallina). They also felt that ICs shamless explotation violated GETCo's own strategy of sustainable development in the galaxy and was a poor reflection on the Terran alliance. GETCo therefore agreed that it was time for an unprecedented action, and approached Kahn with their plan to construct a gate of their own using stolen InfintiCorp technology going from Gallina to a sector in Cygni. It is speculated that GETCo also had been investigating the closed Ancient gate far out in the Lagarto sector and found some clues to gate technology there.

Kahn, seeing a valuable opportunity, agreed to the plan. Under much secrecy a gate link between Gallina and a sector (Theluji Rift) in the Cygni system was constructed by GETCo. The first to enter were the Progen explorers, Sabine, who began their surveys for resources, trying to avoid a conflict with IC patrols. The Centuriata however, moved to set up bases on the planet of Bayanni and its moons well within IC patrol range and therefor almost immediately detected. This sparked a surprised and hostile response from InfintiCorp, which enlisted the aid of EarthCorps who, lead by Diego Herrera, amassed a large fleet and began to defend the system.

What followed was the short but vicious war between the Progen and the Terran in 2341. Battles on Eshu and in the Theluji Rift were especially remembered. When the skirmishes were beginning to spread to Sol and Aragoth Vinda, leader of the Sabine, realized that the war must stop or it would be another Gate War disaster for the human race. With her Sabine explorers behind her she declared that Kahn must sue for peace or that her followers would cease to call forward the Centuriata falling in the war. Kahn was of course furious but Vinda and the Sabine stood firm and finally he was forced to capitulate as he was faced with superior numbers and had lost his advantage of the Call Forward of his troops. Vinda had shifted the power balance in her favor and Kahn was forced to retire. The gate exit that GETCo had constructed in Theluji rift was lost in the war.

In 2353, 61 Cygni remains an InfinitiCorp stronghold. DeWinter and her executives plan to use the profits reaped from this system to guarantee their supremacy over the Terran Alliance. The whereabouts and the exact functioning of the GETCo gate from Gallina to Cygni is a mystery to this day, but is speculate that GETCo is still working on it.

Vishao Gate and Antares system
While the Terrans and Progen fought over the dominance in Cygni and other places the Jenquai has went further into Capella system and in the year 2329 Jenquai Sha'ha'dem explorers discover the first Codex Shard (Vishao Codex) while excavating Ancient ruins in the Capella system. 3 years later, Merjan Kathrada, the leader of the Sha'ha'dem and now also of the Jenquarum, opens the gate using the key under the uttermost secrecy, as they don't want to loose it as they did the Akeron gate. At the same time that the gate is opened a maelstrom appears in Sirius space, Swooping Eagle sector. The Sha'ha'dem begins to survey it and calls it the Mazzaroth maelstrom. They encounter the first V'rix. Merjan also orders her Sha'ha'dem explorers to go into the newly discovered system of Antares behind the ancient gate, where they begin the construction of the space station Antares 1.

The Appian Gate and Deneb system
In 2353 Sabine explorers discovers a Shard (i.e. a Codex for an ancient gate) in Aragoth. During the secret transportation back to Gallina under Centuriata escort the Shard is stolen by Amah, the commanding Centuriata warrior at that time and who is responsible for the transport. Amah is most likely under the influence of her previous leader Kahn, which has informed all his followers of the Sabine intention to create a new warrior class, the Sabura, and that he feels the Sabine to weak hearted and naive to be entrusted with the Shard. Amah and Kahn therefor decides to use the Shard for Centuriata interest before the Sabine. Amah therefore heads to the closed ancient gate in Lagarto, Gallina system. Amah chants what little knowledge she has about the Rite of Opening, and the gate opens in a blast of light and sound. At the same time that the gate opens Amah ships disappears along with the Shard. The gate remains open though and Gallina is now linked to Deneb, 1600 light years from earth. Near the Mondara Shear in Tarsis is a Maelstrom materializing, now called the Mondara Maelstrom.

The Sabine, who had previously been analyzing the closed ancient Gate, the ruins on the Risco moon and the remnants of the GETCo expedition, are immediately aware of the Gate opening. Vinda sends her explorers into the Deneb system and they return with promising reports of resources. Although they also indicate rumors of a shadowy presence, radar scanner blibs that instantly disappear once detected. Vinda allows GETCo to survey the system for minerals. The GETCo survey ship Galapagos enters the sector Roc (the only sector in Deneb) and for reasons unknown it disappears at the outer edges.

The year after, in 2354, Anjuren Kahn returns from retirement and begins to build a large shield around Cygni, claiming that the weapon ores coming from the mines must be protected, since he finds the presence of the V'rix in human space hostile. At this time the V'rix had already began their scanning for the Vishao Codex and started to appear more aggressive towards ships. Some sources have indicated that Kahn some months later decided to declare war on the V'rix after the discovery of the wreackage of Amahs internment shield.

The Hidden One and Xipe Totec
In the year of 2353 a small Jenquai expedition is sent to Xipe Totec in Sirius. The expedition was lead by students of the lost Master Zeh Len. One of the original disciples of Yasuragi, Zeh Len had disappeared several years before during a meditation session in Swooping Eagle, while she underwent "harmonic transformation". The students still believe that Zeh Len's essence was nearby and could communicate. Zeh Len disappearance is most likely linked to the origin of the Oni that appeared in Xipe Totec many years ago. Many speculate that its the "Hidden one" (see under the Prasad Expedition above) that is responsible for both the Oni and the disappearance of Master Zeh Len. Going behind the Intzalan line they use a special device (later known as an Oni Communication device) in an attempt to contact their lost master. The expedition was never heard from again.

The Tada-O Gate in Cooper
Sometime in the early 2350:ies Tada-O (Tadakastu-Obata) went to explore the Cooper sector in Beta Hydri system. The exact time and purpose of the exploration has not been revealed by the company (which actually denies much of their involvment till this day). It appears that Tada-O tried to build a gate of their own this far out in space, however Tada-O denies knowledge and ownership over it. Nevertheless its clear they have some part in the construction seeing their giant logo rotating around the gate and their (somewhat broken) marketing jingles echo out to passing space pilots radios. The gate was spotted by fearless pilots around the year 2353 and regardless the ownership it is clear that something has gone very wrong, the gate now acts as the entry point into our galaxy from a very distant galaxy. Dangerous Ten-Gu creatures have entered our part of space and they seem to indicate the arrival of even more powerful forms of the Ten-Gu, called the Ti. - "The Ti are comming .. This system will be ours!" is what they are calling out to pilots daring to get close to the malfunctioning gate. The exact motives for these creatures are unknown , but they do not appear to be peaceful. Until these interlopers from another galaxy are subdued, its not likely that anyone will be able to investigate the gate or its construction. Tada-O itself has been pressured several times by the Glenn Commission to reclaim the area and "fix" the gate problem, but clearly its an enormously difficult task as all attempts have failed completely.
