Rocketboy

He'd been struck so many times and he'd lost his only way
Built his own machine on the Christmas holiday
with polished silver wings and a mind set on war
he just smiled and said something like:

"Without my dreams I've got nothing
Without this pain I am no one
Without Utopia I just can't say how it would be like
for me today"

A glimpse at what he'd seen would be enough to make you scream,
the perfect state then he found out he was to late
when the engine was warm and the time was right
he just finished his glass and left

The Rocket boy is gone
The Rocket boy left home
without an urge to stay he packed and went away

The Rocket boy once here
But now he's disappeared
no place that would accept his strange and scary act

All the lies he'd been fed and the stories he'd been told
all surfaced a day with a morning so cold
The birds had stopped singing and the dog had run away
they knew what was coming down

Without his dreams he had nothing
Without his pain he was no one
Without Utopia he just couldn't say how it would be like
for him today
that's what he said

The machine it was gone and nowhere to be seen
the morning breath tasted gasoline
A world that's on fire is no place to live
for a boy with nothing to give

New years eve no one will ever forget that day
wrapped round a tree that was in the way
The world he'd left behind pretended not to see
who he really was
