Description of individual competition.
Shooting (team relay)
All team members shoot 10 shots each,
a total of 30 shots. 1000 pentathlon points = 258 shooting points (maximum is
300 points). Every shooting point above or below 258 is worth 12 pentathlon
points.
Ex. One team get a total result of 265 shooting points. This is equal to 1084 p.
Fencing (team relay)
All teams meet each other's. Each team
member fence one person in another team, but with 3 bouts (matches) instead
of one as in the individual competition. That means that it is a total of 9
fencing matches in every team meeting. If a team wins 70 % of all their matches
they earn 1000 p. Each victory above/below is worth +/-12 points.
Ex. 12 teams means that there are (11x9=) 99 matches for each team. 70 % corresponds to 69 victories = 1000 p.
72 victories will therefore give 1036 p.
Swimming (team relay)
Relay 3x100 m (total
300 m). Men, 3 min 15 s = 1000 p. Women, 3 min 30 s = 1000 p and +/- 4 p for
0.33 s above/below this time.
Ex. Men and the time 3 min 13.5 s is worth 1020 p.
Riding (team relay)
Show jumping, speed 350 metres/minute,
9 single obstacles (no double or triple), maximum height 1.20 metre. Relay ride
3x350 metres.
New rules from year 2002: A fault free ride under the standard time 3
minutes will give the team 1200 p. For each second above that standard time
the score is reduced with 4 p. A time above 4 minutes gives further deduction
of 240 p and also 80 p for every not jumped obstacle. Knockdown gives 16 p,
refusal or disobedience to jump 20 p deduction. Any disobedience leading to
the knocking down of an obstacle gives 32 p deduction. An incorrect change over
in the relay will give 40 p deduction.
Ex. The team rides in the time 3 min 12 s, has three knockdowns and one refusal
(that knocking down the obstacle). 1200-12x4-16-16-16-32=1072 p.
Running (team relay)
Relay running 3x1500 metres cross-country,
chase start. Men, 14 min = 1000 p. Women, 15 min 30 s = 1000 p. +/- 4 p for
every whole second above/below that time.
Ex. The time 14.58 is worth 768 p for men and 1128 p for women.
