These pictures were taken during my two month period as a ringing assistant on Kvismare Bird Observatory, here in sweden. I worked with, among others, my old friend Jon Sund (JSD), Tobias Sahlman (TSN), Karin Illerström (KIL) and the two british ringers Mark Anderson (MRA) and Mike Raven (MJR). All in all, I had a majorly great time, and I'll be back again next year. Click on the thumbnails below for a bigger picture.

Jon ringing a Great Reed Warbler, really tricky bastards to do, as there's so much biometrics to check on them.

And here's me picking birds out the the nets, picture by Jon.
|

Me and my first ringed Robin, european variety that is.

Mike and I, engaged in a little intercultural exchange, at this particular moment focusing on drinking habits in our respective countries.

Karin holding an Icterine Warbler. My favorite warbles, as it sounds like a rubber duck at times :).
|

Karin's new image as a hard birder. Admit that it suits her.
|

I belive this was the only Redstart we caught.
|

A Sedge Warbler, or 'Sedgie' who just didn't want to leave. But who can blame it :).

A Treecreeper hunches low, following the contours of Martin Stervander's hand.
