Background: Rickenbacker grew up on a small frontier world. Life was harsh, and when he was 15, his mother died. His father then took him out of school and let him go out on scouting expeditions, and Rick (as his friends call him) showed some talent as a scout, and was later recruited to scout for a large mining company, finding planets worth setting up mining operations on. He's never been married, and has spent a lot of time in space on his own or with a small crew, so his experiences with women have mostly involved small amounts of cash and no great deal of love. He's a pretty good pilot, and knows some about mining, although he's never worked with that part of the process. He also knows something about most things that have anything to do with shipboard life and his job. Since he hasn't been around people much he's pretty quiet and cautious, and he expects everybody to give him the respect for personal space that he gives them.

Rickenbacker is in the sector in order to find employment as a scout or pilot of some sort, and if some suitable woman shows up, a relationship of some sort. He hasn't considered joining the rebels, nor the empire, but might go with the rebs if given the choice. Rickenbacker doesn't really know much about these issues, but he dislikes the Empire because of its methods of mining, and the way it uses people. He knows of the rebels, but has so far managed to stay away from politics at all.

Rick believes in the force, although doesn't care much about it. His philosophy is that if it's going to affect him he'll deal with it when it does.

Personality: Quiet and cautious, on the verge of shy, are the words that best describe Rick. He doesn't mind other people, and quite enjoys a good discussion, but has a hard time initiating a conversation. If someone starts talking to him he generally opens up, but if someone is unfriendly he'll probably just ignore the person. If provoked he'll fight, but only after he's tried all other possibilities, and he's not a very good fighter.
