The History of Guardians of Destiny

A long time ago, long before the age of  Tristram and even before the time of Diablo, there was an ancient world. The world was beutiful,  with great forests and large cities with blooming gardens and the ancient kingdoms had well planed trade routes and big well functioning harbours. The largest kingdom was Illian. Illian laid on a ground of gold and the trees flowered with emeralds and diamonds. The kingdom was ruled by Erek the all mighty. He was a very wise man and led his people with honor.

One day he fell ill and he was put to bed for several weeks. The wise men of Illian had a theory - Erek had been cursed. The source was thought to be high up in the mountains. The wise men called in the best Paladins from the ancient world and put them together in the best elite troop in the known world - The Guardians of Destiny. They were sent up into the mountains to locate and destroy the source of the curse.

Many dangers laid on their path, but that was no match for the Guardians of Destiny. Up in the mountains in the darkest caves they found a necromancer called "Nagash"  they felt the curse flowing from his body there was a hard struggle to destroy Nagash and several Paladins died. The Guardians discovered that as soon as you touch the necromancers body with any materials you become wounded or slain. But then a brave Paladin of Destiny called Mimeric flew up from behind the necromancer and slicesed his head of with his sword. Mimerick died instantly Nagash head fell from his body to the ground and the Paladins the curse dissapeared from Nagash aura.

Erek recovered from his disease rather quickly. He and the wise men of Illian laid out an offer to the Guardians of Destiny. They would be kept were time did not exist and be called out when ever there was danger approating. In that way be given eternal life. The Guardians of Destiny accepted.

And now when Diablo has returned the Guardians of Destiny have been called to this world and are now recruiting new members to defeat Diablo and all evil Necromancers that has come from the west.
