I created this page just becuase I found some really interesting links on the net covering the topic. I didn't know people where so productive in the area.
My own experience
Yes, I'm a left handler. I haven't at all suffered from it. School went ok since we do not have the type of school desks as they have in the states. The only problem I've which I can remeber was when I was trying to become the drummer of the decade - I started taking lessons. This was in 8:th grade and the teacher wanted me to place the right arm over the left one because you use your right arm to hit the hi-hat. That's what the books says. "No way!", I said and used the lefty for the hi-hat operations. I think the teacher got pissed of. We got into an argue at some other occation and I eventually quit with the lessons. I mean, why should I have used the right arm? I don't use my right arm in my car when I'm opening the windows. The left are is better suited for that and the same goes for hitting the hi-hat.
