Sandra was born in Arlington, VA. She lived in Germany for a lot of her childhood, her mother being an opera singer and her father a vocal coach. When Sandra was about 12, she moved back to Arlington
full time. She attented Washington-Lee High School full time. She joined the varsity cheerleading squad and dated a football player. "She could make anyone laugh." recalls a classmate. She was voted by
her '82 senior class the "Most Likely to Brighten Your Day." She enrolled as a drama student at East Carolina University where her serious side emerged. She left ECU in 1986 and went to New York City.
She studied method under Sanford Meisner and got a job as a bartender. "I didn't know how to mix any fancy drinks",Sandra admitted. "The customers helped me." Several little breaks came with

The Vanishing and as Elaine the waitress in Wrestling Ernest Hemingway. Also in 93, an untalented country singer in The Thing Called Love. A breakaway came with her role opposite Sly Stallone in
Demolition Man. This set her up for 94's summer box office smash Speed, opposite Keanu Reeves. And of course, Sandra starred in While You Were Sleeping, playing a lonely subway token
operator(Lucy Moneratz) that finds happiness when she saves a man from death. She was also the leading star in 95's late summer box office cyberthriller, The Net, in which Sandra plays a systems
analyst(Angela Bennett) who gets deleted all of the sudden as has to leave her computer world. Two If By Sea, a romantic comedy with Dennis Leary, came out in early 1996 and recently released, John
Grisham's A Time to Kill came out in late July. She stared opposite Samuel L. Jackson and newcomer Matthew McConaughey. Kate and Leopold, which she is also co-producing she be released in late 96
or 97. She also wrote and will produce and short film titled Making Sandwhiches, in which she costars with her costar in A Time to Kill, Matthew McConaughey. She also has signed to do Speed II(without
Keanu) and Love and War, a World War I Epic Story by Richard Attenborough, which she began production after A Time to Kill.
