Another pencil original for a painting that never became realized.
I had just seen an episode of Babylon 5 on TV where Garibaldi sees the light and the love in a woman who is there as a part of a military task force. In the end she dies on some distant battlefield, and that episode really moved me. I could not get over the death of beauty, death of joy, death of the promise of happiness she symbolized.
So I sat down and drew this very emotional piece - at least for me. Many pictures I make have no deeper meaning then the beauty they represent, so this was quite different.
