Wednesday, 4th of November 1998 - Mariah on a movie premier! Mariah is expected to be on the premier of the movie The Waterboy today, starting 7.15 PM at the Sony Astor Plaza on Broadway. This movie star the fantastic Adam Sandler. More megafamous people expected there are Drew Barrymore, Chris Rock, Usher and.... Hulk Hogan. Also Deborah Gibson, who Mariah saw on TV while she was waitressing and said "I can do that better" or something. Someone remember the quote? |

The biggest website www.whitney-fan.com keeps looking for that "Whitney outsinging Mariah" version of When You Believe that someone heard listening to canadian radiostation Z95 a few weeks ago. They might have to look a long, long time - because I asked the station about the song and they say they just got the When You Believe single today, and that they've never played the song before! |

Wednesday, 4th of November 1998 - Mariah's friends debuting #2! Mariah's friends Dru Hill, who helped her with the wonderful song The Beautiful Ones, has debuted at #2 on the US charts this week. They sold 128.000 copies which is very good! For the fifth week in a row Jay Z is #1, but next week Alanis will be #1. And surely with record debutsales for a female artist ever. |

Tuesday, 3d of November 1998 - Mariah interviewed at a show called 20/20! This is supposed to happen on November 13, 10 PM on ABC. The cool fun and free CravinMC fanclub (Drm0fMyHny@aol.com) tells me 20/20 is one of the best news shows on TV in the US. Barbara Walters has interviewed MANY different performing artists about their fame and their life. The stars usually get into their past, what they grew up in and stuff. Tuesday, 3d of November 1998 - Australian girl found. Mariah was searching for a girl she saw in Australia who had a tattoo of Mariah on her arm, and she let Sony Music Australia put out an add to find the girl. Now Michelle tells me this (edited) =========================== Radiostation B105 have been on the hunt for the Mariah fan. They called her up on Friday during the Morning Crew. This girls aunt had called B105 and said it was her niece. This girl is from New Zealand and she came to Australia to see Mariah and during the "Hero" she was trying to show Mariah that tattoo. Then she decided to hitch down to Sydney and she got to meet Mariah there for about 2 minutes and show her the tattoo. That is how Mariah found out that she was in Brisbane. This girl had no idea that Mariah was looking for her and that her aunt had rung up B105. She was totally freaking out that Mariah wanted to meet her. ===========================
I'm glad they found the girl! Sony Australia wasn't such a big help
btw, because in their add they write it's a tattoo of a Butterfly,
not of Mariah. Anyway, this sure was a good way to get Mariah craving
over you, all you had to do was scar your arm for life with a needle! =)
A few years ago Mariah sent out this same plea to find someone, and
that was in Holland and this guy who had Mariah painted all over
the car (I saw the car when I was in Rotterdam, it was fantastic), so
why don't y'all try to think of something as cool and maybe she'll

Next week DreamWorks will release their first duet, a syrupy ballad called "When You Believe" for the animated Biblical biopic "The Prince of Egypt." There's a lot riding on the song's success: in addition to being the first single off the Moses epic's soundtrack, it's also the first single on Carey's greatest-hits collection, "#1's," and on Houston's new album, "My Love Is Your Love," both due Nov. 17. Monday, 2d of November 1998 - First review of the #1's album. Well, an album that has all these hit songs must surely get great reviews, right? But you never know with critics. This was.. hmm, kinda good though, from Dot Music - the UK version of Billboard. Kay told me about it and here it is: ===========================

492604 4).Given the fact that Carey has only enjoyed one UK number one (Without You), punters here may well find this retrospective’s title curious. But in the US, only The Beatles and Elvis Presley stand in the way of her on the all-time lists with 13 chart toppers in just eight years. They’re all here from Vision Of Love onwards, along with new duets with Whitney Houston and Brian McKnight and a cover of Do You Know Where You’re Going To.
Her last album underperformed here by
her own standards, but this really is
perfect Christmas market material. They gave the album 4 dots out of 5. Or is it 6? I'm pretty sure it's 5. That's the same they gave for instance Celines new christmas album, George Michaels new greatest hits, Alanis new album, REM's new album, a 15 year old girl called Billie, the new Jewel album, Babyface christmas album. So they're pretty generous with high grades. |

Monday, 2d of November 1998 - Mariah all over MTV! Seems like Mariah will work overtime with plugging the #1's album. Earlier I reported that she will be on VH1 on Tuesday, November 17 from 8:00 PM-11:30 PM in a special called the Mariah #1's special, followed by a concert from the year 1993, her Madison Square Garden show, and a VH1 to One interview from 1997. Now the CravinMC fanclub gives me the 411 on Mariah's MTV plans which includes: Mariah Carey Pasta Party Countdown 1 hour special airing on November 15 Mariah Carey episode of Fanatic will air on November 16 Mariah TV Live on November 16 And later this year Mariah will have a TV special on Fox!

Monday, 2d of November 1998 - Mariah on TV in Spain! Certainly good news for spanish people from my friend Bruno today. He write that Mariah will be featured on spanish television (Canal Satelite Digital, canal 40tv) from Monday (9.11) to Thursday (14.11). Everyday they will show a different program lasting 30 min beginning at 11 o´clock. On Sunday the´ll begin at 01 h o´clock in the nigth and it´ll last 2 hours. Sounds great!! |
