About Latvia

Introduction

Latvia (Lettish Latvija), republic in northeastern Europe, bounded on the north by Estonia and the Gulf of Riga, an inlet of the Baltic Sea, on the east by Russia, on the south by Belarus and Lithuania, and on the west by the Baltic Sea. Riga, the capital and largest city, is also the country's chief port. 
 
 

Incukalns is a village about 35 km east Riga. There are approximately 3950 inhabitants in the municipality of Incukalns where about 900 are pensioners and 970 are children up to 16 years. 

Dominating employment are in wood industry, public owned farming industry, mink farms and restaurants. There are about twenty private owned companies.
