Here are some of the better MIDI files that I have found on the Internet, and elsewhere, so far. Files marked with
and are in General MIDI and General Sound format, respectively, and they should
sound OK on just about any General MIDI sound card. Files marked with are in Yamaha's XG (Extended General MIDI)
format, and they sound really great, but only if you have an XG compatible device, unfortunately. If you don't have one,
I strongly recommend that you buy yourself a Yamaha DB50XG - it's a great sound card.
At the bottom of this page, there's an MP3 recording of 'Funk Hard'
so that you can hear what it should sound like even if you have another
sound card.
Funk Hard. For those of you who don't have an XG compatible
sound card, I recorded funkhard.mid (number one in the table above) to an MP3 file. Get it, it's only 1.4 MB...
El Cumbanchero. This is a live recording of Wijkmanska
Blecket performing El Cumbanchero at 5 AM as an encore at a concert in Gothenburg.
