In 1983 Cantona makes his proffesional debut for the french club Auxerre. It went bad for Cantona in Auxerre, only 2 goals and 13 apperances in three seasons and therefore, Martigues loaned him. 1986, returns to Axurre and scores 21 goals the next two seasons.

In 1987 Cantona punch his goalkeeper and gets a heavy fine. He also makes his debut for France against West Germany. Next year Cantona join Marseille. He gets banned form French team one year for swearing at the coach. In 1989 Cantona gets suspended from Marseille atfer kicking the ball into the crowd and throwing his shirt at the referee after being substituded. He now moves to Montepellier. In 1990 he gets banned for 10 days after smashing his boot in the face of a team mate. He returns to Marseille.

He signs for Nimes next year but is bannes for three matches after throwing the ball at the referee. At the disciplinary hearing he says idiot to all committee members. The result is three months suspansion. Cantona responds by ritire from fotball. In 1992 starts to play again with Sheffield Wendsday, for a short while, before he joins Leeds. Cantona helps Leeds to win the title, then move to Manchester United.

Next year Cantona gets fined £1000 for spitting on a Leeds fan. This year he help United win the title. In 1994 he scores two goals in the 4-0 FA Cup final over Chelsea and complete the League, Cup double. The year 1995 he gets the red card again after the very famous kung fu kick. The result: 1: heavey fines 2: 120 houers of cummunity survice.

In 1996 Cantona is voted "fotballer of the year" by the fotball writers association. United complete the double for the second time in three seasons.

The final year 1997 Cantona win the league with Manchester United for the fifth time in six seasons, he also retire from fotball.
