Ingredients:
12 slices of white bread, length cut.
Soft butter
Filling:
1) 2 dl double cream, whipped, mixed with
150gr swedish red sandwichcaviar (Kalles),
If you can´t find this (smoked fine grained)
delicious spread, use any of your favourites.
2) 250 g baked pate of liver,
preferrably spreadable swedish or danish
if you can not find this at your grocers
write to me for a recipe or use another pate´
blended in a mixer with some cream
to a smooth spread
1 1/2 dl chopped cucumber
3) 450g ham, chopped
11/2 dl mayonnaise, 4 tsp mustard
Garnish:
1) 3dl mayonnaise
2) chopped parsley
3) 200g smoked swedish salmon sliced
thin, rolled and cut to "roses".
4) 400g schrimps
5) 100g smoked steak of raindeer
(common in sweden) if you can´t find it,
chose your favourite smoked sliced meat
and 1dl whipped cream
mixed with 1-2 tsp horse-radish
Place the slices partly covering each other
on a sandwich-paper. Spread the horseradish-cream
and roll. Put the roll in the freezer, it makes the
roll easier to cut later.
6) hard cheese, grapes and fresh dill
Instructions:
Put the buttered slices of bread together side to side
as a bottom. Spread the caviar-cream put another
three slices of buttered bread in the other
direction and spread the pate´of liver, sprinkle
the chopped cucumber, put another three slices
of bread on top and spread the mayo-ham mix.
Place the last three slices of bread on top
and spread mayonnaise over the whole "cake"
Decorate with parsley around the sides
cut the frozen rolls in 1 1/2 cm slices.
Slice cheese and make cones or rolls.
Decorate as the picture. If you want the "cake"
to be moisty, put it in the fridge
a few hours before decorating
