#20 Rene Corbét
Scouting Report

The Finesse Game
A purely offensive player, Corbet has a tough go of it getting ice time because he isn't in the same elite class as teammates Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg. Yet Corbet took advantage of injuries to those two players last season to establish a solid NHL game. He has a terrific shot with a great release. He was a scoring champion in junior (QMJHL) and tore it up pretty good in the AHL, so he has confidence in his ability to find the net. Corbet's defensive work has improved, as has his skating. As a young player, he hired Olympic speed skater Gaetan Boucher as a coach.

The Physical Game
Corbet is of average height but a little on the light side. He actually looks somewhat fragile, since he tends to work in the high traffic areas and gets bounced around.

The Intangibles
Corbet has paid his dues for a number of years, as a part-timer and in the minors. He has been labelled as a player with an inconsistent intensity level.
