#18 Adam Deadmarsh
Scouting Report
The Finesse Game
Deadmarsch is a bigger version of Kevin Dineen. Heīs feisty and tough and can work in a checking role, but he can also score off
the chances he creates with his defense. His game is incredibly mature. With barely two full seasons under his belt, he is
reliable enough to be put out on the ice to protect a lead in the late minutes of the game, because he will do what it takes to
win. Deadmarsh doesnīt have to be glamour guy (Colorado is loaded with those types, anyway), but that doesnīt mean he provides
unskilled labour. Deadmarsh has dangerous speed and quikness. He has a nice scoring touch to convert the chances he creates off
his forechecking. He can play centre as well as both wings, so he is versatile. He doesnīt play a very creative game. Heīs a
basic up-and-down winger, a nice complement to all of the flash and dash on the Avalanche. He excels as a dedicated penalty killer.
The Physical Game
Deadmarsh always finishes his checks. He has a strong work ethic with honest toughness. He never backs down from a challenge and
issues some of his own. He isnīt a dirty player, but he will fight when challenged or stand up for his teammates.
The Intangibles
Deadmarsh has a huge upside, and with more ice time (if he can get it on this stocked team) his production could soar. He will never
be a 100-point player, but he is capable of leaping to the 60-70 point range. There just arenīt enough good things scouts can find
to say about this kid. Hi is a kind of player who will seldom be one of the three stars of the game, but will be one of the guys who
found five ways to help win a game.
