#24 Jon Klemm
Scouting Report
The Finesse Game
Klemm has enough finesse skills that the Avalanche used him up front due to injuries last season. His defensive skills are good enough that he was assigned the unenviable task of playing the stay-at-home partner to the wayward Sandis Ozolinsh. Let's just say he's had a lot of experience facing two-on-ones. Klemm is an all-purpose defenseman who does everything the team asks of him. His skating is average, but he plays within his limitations. When he's moved up front he fills the role of a grinding winger, and just plays it safe and smart.
The Physical Game
Klemm doesn't go looking for hits. He eliminates his man but doesn't have the explosive drive from his legs to make powerful highlights hits.
The Intangibles
Klemm is a sportswriter's nightmare because he's so quiet, yet he's appreciated by his coaches and teammates for his willingness to do anything for the team.
