Wernigerode is a city in the Harz region in Germany. From a public transport point of view it is very interesting. The metre gauge Harzquerbahn starts it route to Nordhausen and Brocken in Wernigerode.
Wernigerode Omnibus Verkehr AG was started in 1990. It provides bus services in the city and the surroundings. Express buses are run to Goslar, Berlin and Leipzig. In 1992 WOV bought a bus company in Berlin, ADT Berlin renamed to EBL Berlin, with which WOV had started cooperation on the Berlin route one year earlier. That meant around 100 buses and personnel was taken over. In 1993 Aschersleben Verkehr was taken over as well.
