joe the rabbit

Once upon a time in a big forest lived a little rabbit named Joe in his hole in the ground. Joe was a rather small rabbit. He had long white ears and a pink nose. His tail was brown for some reason... Joe lived alone in his hole-in-the-ground. His parents and brothers and sisters had all died. Joe was afraid of everything. He was afraid of the dark. He was afraid of ants. He was even afraid of the other rabbits. That was why he lived far away from the others. But his biggest fear was HUMANS! He knew they were dangerous. That was the only thing he remembered his mother telling him. He had only seen a human once in his life, but he still had the picture of the terrifying beast in his head... It was two years ago. He was outside his hole-in-the-ground house, eating precious flowers and grass, when a big mean human with gigantic shoes almost stepped on him. The human didnīt even notice Joe running in panic down his hole. Joe shook his head to get the image out. - Now Iīm hungry, he said to himself and climbed up to the surface. He just stood there for a while, smelling the sweet sent of wet grass. He started eating. Grass. Green grass, some yellow grass and some discusting brown grass. Joe ate it all. After a while he saw something shiny approximatly 100 feet away. He went to take a look. When he got there the shiny object was gone, but he could smell something strange. Something sticky. He didnīt think anymore about it and continued his eating. After a couple of minutes he heard strange voices and seconds later, Joe the rabbit, was surrounded by 5 - 17 big humans with motorsaws. Of course the men didnīt care about Joe. All they wanted was to cut down some trees. When Joe saw them slaughtering the trees he quickly ran up a small little tree, to young to be cut down. He sat in the tree until the evening came. All the men were gone but there was another problem. He didnīt know how to get down! Iīm gonna fall, I`m gonna fall, he thought all the time. So he stayed in the tree and after a while he fell asleep. He woke up in the middle of the night when he heard a voice. A friendly voice. He crawled out on a wrench to get a better view. In the moonlight he saw someone standing under the tree. He crawled longer out on the wrench to get an even better view, but instead he fell on the ground right infront of this mystic person. He was terrified! He was so afraid that he couldnīt move. But then the person started talking to him in a sweet voice. Joe opened his eyes and looked right into the eyes of and old woman. This was not a bad human, he could see that in her eyes. Then she did something with a staff that she held in her hand. Joe saw a bright light and all of a sudden he could speak! The old woman told Joe that she was a good fairy and that Joe was granted a wish. He could wish anything, she said. Joe thought for a while. First he wanted to be a human. I could eat meat, drive cars and go to rave-parties! he thought. But then he realized that all he really wanted was to be a normal rabbit with his family. That was the purpouse of his life. And that was his wish. ___________--------------POFF------------_____________ When Joe opened his eyes he was back in his hole-in-the-ground house and there was his whole family! Acting like nothing ever happened. Joe was so happy. That night he fell asleep with his head on his mothers stomach. He dreamt about brown grass. by: Mathias Andersson 9:2
