| Mieko knew the time was running
short so she hurried to pick the bicycle off
from the floor, scraped the pedal along the cold concrete floor, whipped
herself on to the saddle and rode like the wind into the busy street ahead.
The meal her mother helped her make was delicious so she ate as much as
she could to sustain her through the night. This was to be her problem as she
pushed herself up the hill on 126th street west, it was a long narrow street
that rose up well passed the horizon of which glowed with an unbelievable
reddish haze that only could mean one thing, she was late, and this made her
push even harder on the pedals. Should I let the kids stay up tonight to watch cartoon network thought Mieko as she came to the top of the hill, reaching a comfortable speed now, she thought of the children she has been looking after when Mr and Mrs Tolkien have been on one of their many dinner dates and cocktail parties.
