Me, myself and I

Me – an educated (?) working man

When I got back to Stockholm from the States I had two more years in the Swedish "high school". After graduation I started to work. I started to work for half a year with the political party that I am a member of (see later).

In 1994 we had a referendum on whether Sweden should join the European Union or not. I worked for half a year with the campaign organization that wanted us to join. We won.

I joined the Swedish Navy in 1995 for a year (no, the military service is not longer than a year). I worked at a big mine-carrier

Finally back on land I started to study German at the University of Stockholm. I didn’t stay for to long and I went on and started to work as a teacher at junior high. I thought English, Swedish and math.

In 1996 I started to work in a store selling cell-phones. Cell-phones are really big in Sweden. Sweden, Norway and Finland have most cell-phones per capita in the world. Most people have one.

Now I’m working with my political party again, after all – I am a politician. This fall we have elections to the parliament and to the city councils. Now I work as political secretary for the vice mayor (opposition leader) of Järfälla. It's a great job!

 Me – a politician

I have been politically active since 1989 and I am a member of the second biggest party in Sweden. Swedish politics is not so individually oriented (unfortunately). We rather see us as a group, a party. I’ve been active in the youth-organization in many different positions. In the latest election in 1994 I was elected into the city council. Next election in the fall of 1998 I am also a candidate to the Swedish parliament, though my chances to be elected are small.

The party I represent is the Conservative Party. European and American politics are difficult to compare. The party would in your eyes be conservative but in my liberal. Makes sense?

Actually I am a libertarian. The people I like are, for example, Reagan, Thatcher, Friedrich Hayek, Ayn Rand, Adam Smith and Milton Friedman. If you want to know more, click here.

 Me - in the future

What are my plans for the future? Well the next couple of years I have a lot jobs to do in politics. But looking beyond that I would like to work with politics, but not as a politician. Perhaps as a journalist or a lobbyist. Time will tell.

I'm planning to go to the university in the near future. I would like to study economics or something related.

I would also like to come back to the States to study or to work. The problem is to find a job since there are strong rules when it comes to foreigners.
