A PRESENTATION OF DENADA

Review on www.lovescorn.com in august 1999:

Hailing from Sweden, Denada's sound is electronic and driving, and quite refreshing in today's clutter of electronic pop music. The song Hypotalamus, written to help vocalist Kiana get over a break up of her own, its honest and sincere - something you don't hear everyday. As for the song itself, its got a danceable beat and good guitar riff, and shows a bunch of promise for this band. Check them out!

Denada was formed in late 1996, and was originally a standard four-piece rock band. The band played live in and around the Stockholm area as much as they could, and by the beginning of 1997 they had earned a bit of a reputation as a hardworking live band. Through ´97 Denada kept themselves busy by playing liveshows, both electric and unplugged, and also recording an acoustic 3-track demo in a small studio in Stocholm, which was to be the bands first recorded work. Cassettecopies of this recording sold well at Denada´s liveshows, and with the money from the sales, the band bought some recording equipment to be able to make their own recordings. The acoustic demo got played quite a lot on spanish radio.

In late ´98, founding members Tubey and Kiana decided they wanted to move in another direction then the rest of the band. Their idea was to combine elements of rock with dancebeats and strong melodies.

They said goodbye to drummer and bassplayer and bought a sampler and some equipment and started experimenting with making a new exciting kind of music inspired by artists such as The Prodigy, Republica, Propellerheads & Garbage.

After about 4 months, Denada had finished a 3 track CD named "Effort".

The CD is being sent out to promotors, labels and managment and Denada has so far had a few offers by various small labels. Denada will appear on three different U.S and U.K compilations in the near future, and the songs are being played at clubs around the Stockholm area, so things are looking good for Denada !

Thanks to the Internet, Denada keeps in contact with their fans worldwide. Read what some of them think in the Forum!
