Denada "Hypotalamus"

Ok This stuff is cool.There seems to be alot of talent goin on in this group. It kind of reminds me of like a more fun and poppy Kindeytheives song. Anyway, The best part about this stuff is the vox. Kiana has a really cool voice that was made for rock. The guitars are also a really fuckin cool part to this band which makes them very different from most of the straight up electronic bands I've been reviewing (even though I love it).The drums work really well with the song but nothing really out of the ordinary there. The synth lines are also very cool and mix really well with the driving guitars in the song. Really cool stuff - keep it up.

La-La-La (commercial-ish mix)

This tune has a Madonna like style to it. I think its the vocal that do it. Nice groove, I especially like the flanger effect on the drumtrack. Very upbeat and very dancable song. Good mix and recording. The only thing I don't like about this song is the La La La chorus line, but its a very catchy melody. I like this band!!!

"La-la-la" is a fun song. A bit techno for my taste, but it had a good rock backbone to it to make me forget about that. Great vocals. That really made the difference for me. This reminded me of Garbage, but I liked it better. More feeling to it. Good stuff from Sweden!

I´ll Keep Listening...

the guitar loops in this drag you into this strange sugar perverted world of yours in a rather infectious way. What is this music? Bubblegum and razorblades...that's the best way I can put it...not quite my cup of bromide inflictedtea but denada definitely has an audience out there..cheers!

Denada, Cool, cute, and crazy. You guys are one of the enema's that need to happen to the pop world. I listened to "Hypotalamus". To start with I'm a huge fan of casually done odd time signitures. Also I like the tone of the vocalist. The instruments and sequencing are really tight and so is the production.

on a scale of 1 to 10 you guys rank an "A". Love ya

I was drawn to Denada's tune Hypotalamus, by the mere mention of it being in a 7/8 time signature! I LOVE different time signature works. I'd not gone to listen to any of your (Denada) tunes previously, under the silly presumption that "they're a danceband" (not including all other silly-potential assumptions connected to that one,so I may remain 'polite'. )Hypotalamus is an 'almost' dance tune, put to a beat/feel that many would NOT think they could dance to! Big Headshake This is an INCREDIBLE (potentially) sounding tune! For me, a person who always tries to keep a 'dance' feel in most of my genre type tunes, instantly thought this was danceable! Dividing the timing up into 'moves' does NOT require the moves be in evenly divisable timing.

Your moves should just 'groove' with the rhythm as you hear it. And Hypotalamus does that!Nice grinding guitar melody, and great female vocals, over a grand 7/8 drums and bass (NOT drum n bass, meant) rhythm!

The only thing that I don't like, is the recording of the tune. It's fairly muddy/unclear, through the entire recording. I'd LOVE to hear a better recorded version of the tune. Provided, it'd be a keeper for me! Out of -11 to +11 scoring, I give this tune AS it's recorded, a +5! With a better recording, I'd be bumping that up to a +7! And me .... I'm not a 'dance music' fan.

Well done tune, chaps! Ryk

Tons of SMILEs for DENADA

You guys are truly amazing ! You are in an entirely different league. But if you want to hear my opinions, here they are:

<Hypotalamus>

There is one Finnish band, CMX, which uses a lot of 7/8 and 5/4 beats, and really makes them work. (In my opinion they're one of the best bands on this Globe.) And then there's Denada from Sweden, combining distorted heavy guitars, pop melodies and breakbeats, all in 7/8. (not the entire song, though) This song is a real hit, and it's a shame it isn't on national charts yet. Your lead vocalist, Kiana, really does have a great voice and she knows how to use it. And it's not impossible to dance to! Just takes a little skill.

I'll be waiting for your tour here in Finland. -Alec Xee- http://www.mp3.com/lunarian.

And I'm adding a link to you. No obligation
