NetTimer 2000 - FAQ

NetTimer installs fine, but it won't start, because of a "missing DLL"!

NetTimer needs a DLL called COMCTL32.DLL. It is automatically installed with either Micorsoft Internet Explorer or Microsoft Office.

NetTimer also requires the Remote Access Service installed. If you do not have this installed NetTimer won't run, but then again, you won't need the program anyway!

I'm connected but NetTimer says I'm not. Why?

This applies to AOL and CompuServe users and is due to their custom-made connection software, which prevents NetTimer from detecting the connection. To solve this you have to abandon their software and connect with the regular Windows services.

Another possibility is that you accidently disabled the timer in the Preferences menu. You can easily see this on the tray icon which is crossed over when disabled.

I get these annoying dialogs when I start NetTimer. Why?

These dialogs are for you absent-mindedness people that forget to register. You can solve this by paying the registration fee.
