Education
Graduation Project September 1998 to December 1998 I am a university student in Uppsala (Sweden). I study Mathematics and computer science and I've just begun to write a small paper on my undergraduate project. In this project I will study the three famous geometrical problems (the quadrature of the circle, squaring the cube and the division of an angle into three equal parts. The ancient Greek mathematicians dealt with this problems but with the tools they mastered they couldn't prove this constructions to be impossible. The most famous problem, the squaring of the circle was proved to be impossible by a German mathematician Lindemann in 1830. But in my paper I will follow this problem the history and finally I will us modern algebra to prove them University Studies September

Work Experience
SI-leader August 1996 to December 1998 During my time as a student I have worked as a teacher in a project called SI-project (read Supplemental Instruction). This project is connected to the first courses in mathematics at university level. My job is to lead a group of students to gain results for the self. To understand this method of teaching you must know that the students at this level are stuffed with new material every day, so they need to treat the new information fast. What most of the students does is simply that they point in their course literature and ask their teacher to explain the problem. We think that this isn't the best way to develop a mathematical understanding, we would like to see that the students, when they encounter a difficult theory, would sit down together and with guidance of their literature and lecture notes they would work their way through this theory. Now if they still don't manage to get the right understanding, they usually just need a little push in the right direction to finally understand it. Now you perhaps realize that my job is to create a good atmosphere in the group of students and also try to guide them to seek for the information themselves. This takes time, but when time passes I can clearly see that they adapt to this new way of studying. The SI-method was developed in University of Kansas City and is applied on courses which has known to be very difficult for the students, like Calculus and the first course in algebra.
